Ephesus Drachm (Greek coin 4th century BC)
Greek coins were commonly designed bearing emblems representing their specific city and region. Ephesus was renowned for honey production in the ancient world, and the city's coins were a proud reminder.
St. Paul wrote to and visited the people of Ephesus as recorded in the New Testament.
The two Greek letters flanking the bee spell the first part of the city name - "E-ph".
