Salem Witch Trial 'Oak Tree' Coins of 1692
$25.00
HANDMADE REPRODUCTION
The infamous Salem witch trials occurred in Salem, Massachusetts in 1692-1693. Twenty perished during the trials and most were hung - perhaps on oak trees like the one on the coins.
These shilling coins are almost exactly like those historically minted in the colonial settlement of New England/Massachusetts in the 17th century. New England coins were the first coins minted in the US. This coin bears the date 1692, the year of the trials, however original coins only differ in that they all read the date 1652.
